Juve look like completing a miserable week in west London
March 18th, 2010 by Emmet MaloneI’m still recovering really from the trip to Chelsea and Cheltenham where I saw the Londoners well beaten by a well organised and fairly ruthless Inter Milan side before watching just about enough of my horses come across the finish line first to return home fractionally ahead myself.
Now, there’s a little bit of catching up to be done on the work front so I’ll keep this brief but I couldn’t head off this morning without sticking a few quid on Juventus to repeat Inter’s smash and grab in west London.
Fulham lost fairly badly in Turis even if at least one of the Itlian side’s goals had a sizeable element of luck about it. Now, though, they’re in a pretty grim situation because they need to win by two goals against a side who need only to sit tight to go through.
The problem in these situations is that if the visiting side can successfully defend their lead into the closing stages then the desperation of the home side to score leaves them exposed and despite having regularly backed Fulham to win at home this season, and done rather well out of it, I kind of fancy Juve to steal something on the break and actually win tonight.
It’s a similar story with Hamburg’s visit to Anderlecht but I’m going to go with Liverpool to overcome the single goal deficit they face against a Lille side that, despite going fairly well back in France, haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road since before Christmas.
